It should hopefully come as no surprise that I have a lot of denim shirts in my closet. And when I say a lot, I mean A LOT. I have different washes, different colors, different sleeve lengths, different fits. The list goes on and on. This particular denim shirt from H&M, though, is my absolute favorite out of the bunch. I have had it for years and it only seems to get better with wear and time.

I have always felt the most myself and also the most comfortable when I’m wearing denim. To me, jeans are classic and timeless while also being rugged and strong. I want my personal style to reflect some of the same sentiments – polished and refined with a hard edge. What better way to incorporate all those notions than with denim on denim.

It is also so easy to dress up (or dress down) a Canadian tux and really make it your own. For me, wearing denim on denim allows my accessories, like my bright handbag, giant hoops, vintage sunglasses and eclectic footwear to really pop. I will always be a blue jean baby!

This look was inspired by Saint Laurent’s Spring 2016 Ready To Wear collection. I absolutely love the way they paired sparkly, elegant, delicate mini dresses with bulky, industrial jackets and trenches. It is such a brilliant combination that gives off a captivating “Army princess” vibe.

Who doesn’t love a man in a suit? Just because it’s hot out does not mean you cannot still rock a suit. Lightweight linens and breezy cottons will keep you cool and comfortable while still looking put together and polished. Here are a few of my favorite summer suit pieces.

I have noticed lately that almost every outfit that I wear or shoot incorporates denim in one way or another. I don’t even think I do it consciously anymore. The way some people feel about wearing black is the way I feel about blue jeans – easy, comfortable, and always in style.
