I recently wore this outfit to a Mixed Medium event at an art gallery in Chelsea. I wanted to wear something that was stylish and sophisticated, but still edgy and “downtown”. I love a great all black outfit, but I think breaking up the black with the statement, chainlink earrings, the red pocket and the white mules really brought this whole look together and made it a little more interesting and fun.

If you’re a sports fan and have not visited Mitchell & Ness before, do yourself a favor and remedy that situation immediately. I am constantly on the Mitchell & Ness site shopping for new pieces from my favorite Bay Area sports teams. Their prints are always so different and so cool, and they are constantly restocking their inventory with great new designs and also awesome vintage pieces.

Mitchell & Ness offers a lot more than your average team store in terms of unique, eye-catching pieces and one-of-a-kind items. There are so many more ways to rep your favorite teams outside of just wearing a jersey, and Mitchell & Ness certainly makes it that much easier and more fun to do so.

The old school sportswear and streetwear brands that we know and love from the 90’s are making a fierce comeback. Retro brands like Fila and Champion are not only producing pieces that mimic the classic styles that we are used to, but also coming up with new designs to appeal to a much younger fan base. I cannot say for sure whether or not the rebranding of these old school lines will translate to enduring success and longevity, but I can say that, at least for now, streetwear is here to stay! Here are a few pieces that I am loving right now:

I will be the first person to admit that I am not a girly girl when it comes to my wardrobe. In fact, when anyone asks me to describe my personal style, the first thing that comes to mind is “tomboy chic”. It follows that for years I have avoided pink not simply because I did not like the color, but more because I did not think that “pink” matched with my carefully curated look and the overall vibe of my personal style.

These past few months, I have noticed that brands have been incorporating a lot of pink into their lines, but it is not the hot pink and baby pink that I have so resolutely steered clear of. Instead, I am seeing more soft pinks, blush tones and dusty roses. Designers are taking it one step further by putting these blush tones on traditionally “masculine” silhouettes and pieces, like tailored trenches and structured suits. Now this is a “pink” that I can get behind — bold and strong, but also feminine and alluring. Here is my long list of awesome pink blush items to add to your summer wardrobe:
