This week, my friend and I were lucky enough to score tickets to an intimate concert with J. Cole hosted by Tidal, Jay-Z’s new music streaming company. I am a big fan of J. Cole’s music and I enjoyed his latest album Forest Hills Drive; however, I have never seen him perform live. I have to fully admit, J. Cole exceeded my expectations. He had amazing energy and really made it a point to connect with the audience. He performed new stuff from his latest album and also old favorites from his early mixtapes. I had a fantastic time and would not hesitate to go to see him perform again. Bravo Tidal and J.Cole!
WHEN IN DOUBT, WEAR RED
Bill Blass once said, “When in doubt, wear red”. Just as I think that every woman should have a little black dress that she loves, I also believe that every woman should own a red dress or top that makes her feel like a million bucks. Red is such an eye catching, sexy color that (in my humble opinion) looks fantastic on every skin tone. The pieces you choose do not necessarily have to be fire engine red; for example, I look much better in a red that skews towards the coral/orange spectrum.
I wore this dress recently to an alumni benefit hosted by my alma mater. Even though the color certainly made a statement on its own, the cut, length and structure of the dress gave the whole look an air of sophistication and glamor. An added bonus is that the dress is SUPER comfortable and lightweight. What more could a girl ask for? Pair red outfits with nude, gold or silver shoes and accessories. Stay away from black, as I believe black shoes and handbags can be too distracting when coupled with red dresses.
